Sometimes, bacteria can change to be able to survive an antibiotic attack. One common cause for this is people using antibiotics when they have a viral infection. It can also happen if you don\u2019t take all of the antibiotics a doctor prescribes \u2013 you\u2019ll kill the weaker bacteria but the strongest will survive and re-grow! When this happens, we talk about the bacteria as being &#8220;antibiotic resistant&#8221;. It is only the bacteria that is resistant \u2013 not the people or animals they infect.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explore antibiotic-resistant bacteria with this downloadable resource.
