Our job is to look at a person\u2019s DNA and figure out if that could be why they have a particular disease, or even to try and help doctors\/nurses understand how best to treat the condition a person has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before starting this job in October 2025, I worked as a lab scientist for Glasgow University for 1 year, the same university I went to for 5 years to study biology &amp; chemistry after finishing school. Science and sports were my two favourite things at school (&amp; the things I was best at!), so I wanted to keep doing both as long as I could!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst I was at school and university, I was very lucky to travel the world playing golf for Scotland, going to places like Ecuador &amp; Chile in South America, South Africa and Morocco in Africa, and all across Europe.
