Prosthetics and orthotics are branches of medicine which use engineering solutions to make devices such as braces, splints or prostheses to help patients with bone and muscle injuries, impairments or limb loss. In this session, Suzanne will share her journey into this field and an insight into her life as a university lecturer, as well as looking at how orthotists and prosthetists work with patients and the wider team, such as doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, to create devices that can best help them. We treat patients with a wide range of conditions including diabetes, arthritis, sports injuries or trauma.
