About Sukanya Sarkar

Sukanya’s father was an engineer who encouraged her interest in building things, which motivated her to move into engineering herself. After working with her father, Sukanya moved from India to Glasgow to study a Masters in Control and Automation Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University. She overcame challenges in her degree and early career thanks to the sense of determination and resilience instilled in her by her mother, who was a teacher and encouraged her enthusiasm for learning.
