Join James from the University of Edinburgh to find out about the European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope. Discover why this telescope is important, how it is mapping one third of the sky, and the role Scotland is playing in this mission. We’ll also find out about James’ path in to a career in space and science communication.

About James Fawcett
I studied Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. After graduating, I didn’t have any grand plans for a career at all…but I had the opportunity to do an internship at Jodrell Bank Observatory for a year in their education team. Talking to schools and the public about the huge radio telescope there was an amazing experience, and I soon realised I enjoyed chatting to people about space way more than researching it!”
I’ve followed a career in science communication ever since, training to be a physics teacher before moving to Edinburgh to design and present planetarium shows for Dynamic Earth science centre. I now work for The University of Edinburgh, where I coordinate outreach for the European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope – a mission to explore the Dark Universe.
