He works in both still photography and video, using medium- and large-format digital cameras, capturing his subjects in both colour and black and white. It was primarily used for research in deep-space astronomy, atmospheric science, as well as&nbsp;the search for&nbsp;extra-terrestrial&nbsp;intelligence&nbsp;as part of the&nbsp;SETI program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Telescope finally collapsed on December 1st&nbsp;2020&nbsp;due to damage&nbsp;caused by&nbsp;Hurricane Maria in 2017 and earthquakes in 2019 and 2020. The photograph was taken immediately after a tropical storm travelled through the&nbsp;local&nbsp;area.&nbsp;\u00a9enrico&nbsp;sacchet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The iconic telescope, set into&nbsp;a natural sinkhole in&nbsp;the Puerto Rican landscape,&nbsp;played an important role in astronomical research. The discovery of the first binary pulsar,&nbsp;accurate measurements of the rotation of the planet Mercury, and&nbsp;the first confirmed exoplanets, which were found orbiting pulsar PSR B1257+12, all took place there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as being a key scientific facility, the telescope can also be&nbsp;spotted&nbsp;as the backdrop to the&nbsp;1995&nbsp;Bond film \u201cGoldeneye\u201d,&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;the film adaptation of Carl Sagan\u2019s \u201cContact\u201d&nbsp;in 1997.&nbsp;\u00a9enrico&nbsp;sacchetti&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Pressurized Cargo Module<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-5 wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li provide any return capability,&nbsp;but&nbsp;it&nbsp;can be loaded with obsolete equipment and trash which burns up&nbsp;as it re-enters Earth\u2019s Mirror<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third mirror for the upcoming Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT)&nbsp;being polished. The GMT&nbsp;is currently being built&nbsp;on a peak in the Andes Mountains in Chile at an altitude of over 2,550m. It will be one of the world\u2019s largest optical telescopes. The photo depicts the holding clasps underneath the mirror as its face is being polished.&nbsp;\u00a9enrico&nbsp;sacchetti&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-column\">\n<p><strong>G<\/strong><strong>ran&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>T<\/strong><strong>elescopio<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>C<\/strong><strong>anarias<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gran&nbsp;Telescopio&nbsp;Canarias&nbsp;(GTC) is a segmented 10.4m circular mirror, formed by 36 hexagonal components. GTC is one of the most advanced&nbsp;telescopes and&nbsp;uses&nbsp;active and adaptive optics to&nbsp;optimize&nbsp;image quality. GTC&nbsp;is able to&nbsp;observe both optical and infrared light coming from celestial objects. The GTC is located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands.&nbsp;\u00a9enrico&nbsp;sacchetti&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>ISS
